Many of our readers know that I’m a teacher by day. I’ve been a Reading Specialist or 13 years, and love Children’s Literature! I’ve created a list of  BEST BOOKS FOR CHILDRENthat every parent should read to their child! Spending time reading to your child will help their language development, and will help them learn to love to read! I picked these books because of the words, pictures, rhythm (and rhyme), and relevance! These books will quickly become your favorites as well!

Picture Books

#1. Tikki Tikki Tembo– This is my all-time favorite, and one that many people may not have heard about!

#2. Goodnight Moon– This is a classic bedtime book, and one that every child should hear many nights before hitting the hay!!

 

#3.The Cat in the Hat (Beginner Books(R)) – Is there any child in America who has not heard of this book? Also, ANY books written by Dr. Seuss!

 

#4. The Very Hungry Caterpillar – Adorable story to learn the days of the week! 🙂 ALL Eric Carle books are good!
