Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Savers Voices program and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.
Many of you probably remember me sharing about our Chicago trip and how I’m a Verizon Savers Blogger now! I’m so excited to announce the techie gadget I get to review for the next six months- a Blackberry Z10!!! This phone has so many neat
Also, we’ll be using our Blackberry Z10 to take pictures for our Where in the World is Grandma Tuggie $25 Gift Card Giveaway!!! Now, for the big reveal! We’ve done an extensive review of the phone itself, and you’ll definitely see some great features on this phone!!!
1. The Camera
One of my favorite features of the phone is the camera!! This camera shoots amazing quality photos, and I wanted to show you the difference in quality. The first picture of the city is with the Z10, but the picture of the actual phone is with my iOS phone. You can see how blurry the photo is when I use my iOS phone. I’m also including the photo of Target’s exterior below just so you can see the contrast in colors, and how blue the sky looks!
Another AMAZING feature of the camera is that you can actually edit photos right on your camera screen with Time Shift Mode! It’s as if your camera takes several photos in a row and allows you to switch between different shots for each person’s face in the picture!! This is an amazing feature, and allows for great photo editing when you have just taken the picture!
2. The HUB
As a blogger I’m constantly working with several social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more! I’m also dealing with personal emails, texts, phone calls, etc. The HUB is where ALL of that happens in one place. It’s amazing how easy it is to maneuver through all of my information without having to go into each separate application. All I have to do is to go to the HUB and I can see all my recent tweets, status updates, and messages in one place.
3. Screen Share With BBM Video
You can Screen Share on the Z10 just like Face Timing with Apple products. This is great for conferencing with coworkers, where you can actually show them your phone screen and work documents! It’s also wonderful for personal use and catching up with family! Missi and I are able to share so many different blogging items just by using our phones!
4. The Touch Screen
The keyboard and touch-screen on this phone are amazing. The touch-screen clarity and display are amazing! The gesture feature versus a home button allows the work experience to flow more smoothly and allows the user to swap between apps very quickly. Because the phone is gesture based, this can be frustrating at first, and there are a few nuances with apps and the gestures. However, the gesture based navigation is still easier and flows more smoothly than opening and shutting multiple apps.
Nuances:
Every phone has nuances that you have to learn, and this phone is no different. Each time I switch phones, the keyboard is always my biggest learning curve. However, these things take time, and I’m learning the gestures and how to text with the keyboard more quickly. As always, learning new tech equipment takes time!
