I am in love with this Best Anti Aging Moisturizer that I make myself. It can be made with Frankincense or Tea Tree essential oil. These are the two best essential oils for skin, and if you google them you will find so much information on these oils in relation to the skin. Tea Tree oil is considered the “Poor Man’s Frankincense.” However, I have used it in my moisturizer with wonderful results. Read more about the anti-aging effects of Frankincense oil. I have made this for many of my friends and family and they all rave about how well it works. At first I was concerned because my skin can be somewhat oily, and the base of this product is coconut and sweet almond oil. However, I have to say that I have had absolutely no breakouts since I started using it, and neither have my family members of various ages. I have had several of them use all of it and ask me for more, so this makes a lovely gift for others as well.
How to Make the Best Anti Aging Moisturizer
It is so easy to make this moisturizer. You will need the following ingredients:
- 1/3 cup coconut oil
- 1 1/2 Tbs. coconut butter (original) or coconut butter lotion. Please note that pure coconut butter will be hard to whip, so I recommend grating it first if you want to go completely non-toxic. As you can see from our picture below, we used a coconut butter lotion. However, this post was written before we completely understood the affects of “fragrance” and toxic chemicals.
- 2 1/2 tsp. sweet almond oil
- 10 drops of Tea Tree (Melaluca) or Frankincense essential oil, plus 7 drops of lavender essential oil.
- 4 oz. canning jars.
Directions:
- Place all ingredients in your mixer.
- Whip on high until it is a moisturizer consistency. You may need to add more cocoa butter lotion and almond oil depending on your brand to make it more fluffy, but most do not need this.
- Transfer into a 4 oz. canning jar.
- Use to moisturize the face or the entire body.

Laresa
I am disappointed in this recipe. The cocoa butter is hard and it is hard to measure and mix up. I can’t even get to the point to see if I need to add more cocoa butter and almond oil. Am I doing something wrong? 🙁

Yes Laresa! We are discovering that the cocoa butter is very hard, and we used more of a cocoa butter lotion. If you are using straight cocoa butter, it should be grated as fine as possible. I will update the post too! Thanks again!

If you use a double boiler and warm the cocoa butter, it will be easier to mix and whip. Cocoa butter is a wondetful moisturizer.

We grated the cocoa butter but could not get the mixture to coalesce. I believe the ratio of cocoa butter to coconut oil is incorrect. We ended up with a jar of oil with cocoa butter separated out at the bottom. This may work with lotion instead of butter but the recipe needs to be corrected.

I have read somewhere that cocoa butter is very good for the skin and it smells really good too. I’m glad I found this recipe. I’ll try to follow this procedure. It sounds easy. Hope it really is. It’ll be my first for a DIY
