There are so many free Weight Loss Resources out there, and we want to share with you all the ways that you can lose weight for less! We discussed the top Health & Fitness Phone Apps! Make sure to check out that blog post! Weight loss is obviously not a perfect science. If it were easy as getting your blood tested, everyone would be thin. Our body chemistry, metabolism, hormones, etc. vary from person to person. Therefore, as always, please know that this blog in NO WAY GIVES MEDICAL ADVICE! We’ve simply compiled a list of FREE weight loss tools for you to use! For years I tried various methods to lose weight: LA Weight Loss, Weight Watchers, the Weigh Down Workshop, etc. However, when I started implementing a Food Diary, regular exercise, and started dealing with the emotional reasons why I was eating, I was finally able to start losing weight. We hope that these resources will benefit you and help you get started on your journey for FREE!!!
We also have a few tips that might help in addition to these FREE resources!
1. Get a partner, buddy, or weight loss group. This group could meet in a home, out at a coffee shop, or you could even start your own Facebook group to help hold you accountable!
2. If you have emotional reasons behind why you eat, check out this extensive list of Emotional Eating Resources on Amazon! I’m an avid self-helper, so while I do feel that some people eat emotionally enough for counseling, we’re trying to help people lose weight on a limited budget. However, please know that sometimes counseling is warranted!
3. Drinking water is free!! Enough said!!

1. My Fitness Pal– Count calories, track your exercise and more with the FREE version of MyFitness Pal. I personally used this app before conceiving and LOVE it! It’s my all-time favorite, and its FREE.
2. Map My Run- My second favorite app! I would track my daily runs (this was before pregnancy, of course, and it would even show my running stats on Facebook to hold me accountable!

FREE EXERCISE TIPS/TOOLS:
If you can join a gym for a relatively small expense, this can be a huge savings! Our local Planet Fitness offers a $10 membership fee often after the New Year! This makes gym costs only $120 per year! That is actually not a bad price!
However, here are some other places to exercise for FREE!
- Run/jog/walk outside (Use the Map My Run app from earlier to track distance/calories).
- Walk at the mall when the weather is bad outside.
- Play tennis at the free courts at the park.
- Use your body weight for resistance with exercises like sit-ups, push-ups, etc.
- Use a step-stool and step to your favorite music.
- Dance to your favorite music! If you have a Wii, break out the Just Dance!!
- Buy a jump rope and use this somewhere in the house where you won’t make too much noise!
- If you live in an apartment building, walk the steps! This is a HUGE cardio workout!
- Check out online resources to see if people are selling/giving away free exercise equipment! I was able to score a free exercise bike on Freecycle this way! Our local area also has a great Facebook Yard Sale group! Craislist is another great resource (as always be careful when meeting strangers!).
- Use canned foods as weights!
- Buy an exercise DVD or stream a workout digitally!
