During my pregnancy hubby did all of the grocery shopping, and I mean all of it. So for about a year and half I never saw the inside of Aldi, because I was either huge and pregnant or taking care of the baby. You can imagine my shock and surprise when I returned to the land of grocery stores and saw all of the organic and gluten free products that Aldi now carries. Read more about why we switched to organic living and a minimalist lifestyle.
While we are not gluten free completely, I love having the option of purchasing gluten-free foods conveniently. To make a long story short, I do not have Celiac’s disease, but I have many, many food preservative intolerances and allergies. So I have done a gluten free diet before, and I do feel better when I’m eating gluten free.
I’m so excited that Aldi is offering USDA because of the amazing prices! These were much less than organic at all of the other stores in our area. Hopefully we can help other families save as well.
At our store we were able to find the following organic foods:
- Frozen blueberries
- Frozen strawberries
- Fresh carrots
- Fresh bananas
- Fresh grape tomatoes
- Fresh apples
- Fresh grapefruits
- Fresh organges
- Apple juice
- Beef broth
- Chicken broth
- Spring leaf lettuce mix
- Kale (boxed)
- Diced tomatoes (canned)
- Various spaghetti sauce (jar)
- Various snacks/chips
- Coconut oil
- Various cereals
- Organic Light Agave Nectar
- Organic Wildflower Honey
- Quinoa
- Organic soymilk, fat free milk, and reduced fat milk (2%)
- Various frozen fruit bars
You can see a list of their gluten-free foods on the Aldi website.
If you are looking to go organic or gluten free, this is a much less expensive way to purchase these types of foods! I was super impressed with the quality and the price of all the organic foods we purchased this week!
