Caramel apples always make me feel like fall has arrived. It makes me want to go to football games, put on a sweater, and drink my first warm drink at Starbucks.
This caramel apple recipe is such a fun activity to do with my kids, and they both loved it (even the baby). We all love apples and caramel, so this was a great way to spend a lazy afternoon this weekend.
I started out by putting the caramel into the pot and started warming it while I placed the craft sticks into the apples. I also got my wax paper ready on my cookie sheet for my finished product. You can also add an optional 1/4 C sweetened condensed milk and a tablespoon of butter.
Once I was ready to start dipping, I realized how important it was to make sure the craft sticks were really secure. I would dip and twirl a few times and then place them on the cookie sheet.
Since we like our caramel set up very well, we did wait a few hours. We also love nuts on ours, so we rolled them in chopped nuts after they were dipped (immediately). Even though fall isn’t here, it has officially arrived in my heart. <3 Do you have a favorite caramel apple recipe? Comment it below!
