If you read our monthly Debt Free Journey posts about how we have paid off over $50,000 in debt in the last few months, you know that my husband doesn’t work in the summers. He is a nurse with a client in a school, so he maintains school hours along with my teaching calendar. While this makes it so nice in the summers because we get an enormous amount of family time, it is very difficult financially at times to live without his income. Check out all of our Spending Freeze posts.
Each year we combat this lowering of our income by going on a spending freeze the entire month of August, and we also started focusing on how to become minimalists. A spending freeze means different things to different people, so let me clarify by saying that we have two children and we both work, so we still have to buy things like gas and some food, but other than those two things (and paying bills), we spend absolutely zero for the entire month. This means we don’t eat out, we only buy needed fresh food, and we don’t buy anything extra that isn’t needed to survive.
We’d like for you to join us for a spending freeze for thirty-one days starting the first of every month. During this time we will support you with daily emails of encouragement, and we will want you to check into our YouTube channel for the Daily Dime everyday. This is also a fabulous way to get your finances under control. All you have to do is the fill out the form below with your first name and email.
During this time you will benefit from the following:
- Daily encouragement and inspiration to keep your finances under control.
- Free printables to use for budgeting, meal planning, and more.
