As LeapFrog Mom Ambassador, I receive products and educational materials in return for my honest review of the products.
I have been using LeapFrog products in my job as a Reading Specialist for over fifteen years. You can imagine how I was over the moon when I found out that DebtFreeSpending was chosen to be a LeapFrog Ambassador. #LeapFrogMom
The first product we received was the LeapFrog LeapPad Platinum. It is geared towards children ages 3-9, and is a top choice among tablets for children. I love the fact that it has a kid-safe web browser. Now that my son is old enough to spell and search the internet, this has been a concern of mine. Kids can browse age-appropriate content, handpicked by their team of learning experts.
The LeapPad Platinum has a 7′ hi-res mutli-touch screen and a super fast processor. You can access a learning library of over 1,000 games all designed or approved by LeapFrog educators. This tablet is built to last and has a shatter-safe screen. We were sent three different Imagicard sets, and he immediately went to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles card set.
Although he’d never admit it, he actually watches Paw Patrol, and was excited to see those cards as well, even though they are geared toward a younger age. This LeapPad will be accompanying me to school as well, so I’m ecstatic that I was sent cards for various ages, since I teach students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth.
This is my favorite set, since I use the LeapFrog Letter Factory DVD with my students each year. I was totally squealing with excitement when I opened this one, because I know how much it will compliment my teaching in the classroom.
This is bub’s usual place in the evenings when he’s relaxing. You can see that he was using his Imagicard set while he was playing as well. All of the digital learning games are enhanced by physical interactive cards that extend the play beyond traditional tablet learning. He just takes a picture of the cards to bring favorite characters into the game and unlock things within the game. These come with a cute tin for storing.
This LeapPad can hold up to 40,000 pictures too. The camera is adequate quality, and I keep coming back to the fact that I know he can surf the web safely.
