Happy Zoo Year Friends! Celebrate Zoo Year with the brand-spanking new trailer for ZOOTOPIA featuring the all-new original song “Try Everything,” written by singer-songwriter Sia and songwriting duo Stargate, and performed by Grammy®-winning international superstar Shakira. This single will be available everywhere on January 8th. Revered worldwide by herds of fans, Shakira voices Zootopia’s biggest pop star Gazelle who is a socially conscious celebrity with equal parts talent and heart.
What is Zootopia?
Zootopia is the modern mammal metropolis like no other city we have seen. These habitat neighborhoods have names like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, and is a melting pot where animals from every environment live together. This place offers opportunity to anything and anybody: no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew. Then rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, and discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big and tough animals is not as easy as she thought. Determined to prove herself, Judy jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman). Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia,” is a comedy-adventure that is directed by Byron Howard (“Tangled,” “Bolt”) and Rich Moore (“Wreck-It Ralph,” “The Simpsons”) and co-directed by Jared Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”).
We are so excited to see this story come to life on the big screen. Our calendar is already marked for the release date: March 4th! I am especially looking forward to the characters that are voiced by some of my favorites: Ginnifer Goodwin (“Once Upon a Time”), Jason Bateman (“Arrested Development”), Shakira (“The Voice”), Idris Elba (“Luther”), J.K. Simmons (“The Closer”), Bonnie Hunt (anything/”Jerry Maguire”), and Alan Tudyk (anything/”Firefly”).
