My husband and I like all of the Marvel universe movies, and I was very excited to watch DOCTOR STRANGE (PG-13) and meet the newest member in Stan Lee’s superhero group. If you enjoyed the previous Marvel installments, then you will be just as captivated by Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton and the rest of the very talented cast, and special effect crew. For my full non-spoiler review with clips and pictures, click on “According to Stella’s Movie Review: Marvel’s DOCTOR STRANGE”.

Now, here is a 12-year old’s point of view.
I really loved the movie. Loved the action. The comedy made the drama easier to watch. Loved the special effects.
My 12-year old has just started getting interested in PG-13 rated movies. At this point, she still looks for stories that are captivating enough, with little drama. When I saw Doctor Strange, I was blown away by the effects and completely mesmerized by the story. I knew she would love it (like she loved ‘Fantastic Beasts…’).
As much as I love my movies, I am still very cautious and protective of our daughter and her viewing material. Over the years, we have allowed her to grow and watch movies within her ‘realm of understanding’. Because each family has their method of caring for their kid, it is my pleasure to share my insights in my reviews so that you can make the best decision for your family.
What is DOCTOR STRANGE about?
This superhero origin story introduces us to the world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident renders his hands useless. When traditional medicine fails him, he travels to the remote Kamar-Taj in search of a cure, but instead discovers the mystical arts and becomes a powerful sorcerer battling dark forces bent on destroying our reality. Now, you can Bring Home The Mystifying, Mind-Bending Journey on Digital HD Feb. 14 and Blu-ray™ Feb. 28.
For my Fellow Marvel Friends, I’ve got some new bonus material that gives you a deeper peek at it’s villain, Kaecilius and the Zealots that follow him. The two deleted scenes show a few darker moments that were cut from the movie and some excellent concept art where you can see how this character was developed.

Then for my Fellow Cumberbatch Friends, check out these additional Benedict bonus material that focus on both how Benedict was cast for the role and how he took it on and made it his own. The art work shows how they were conceptualizing him in the role as well as how they developed the costume further.
