I’m still in complete shock that it’s been a year since I have posted about our Debt Free Journey! Our last update for May/June 2016 discussed how hubby had broken his foot and was out of work for several weeks. Shortly after that we decided to purchase an RV and head to Utah and drive across the United States to visit the Young Living farms in Mona, Utah. We had been in serious prayer about seriously considering our Young Living business as a full-time business, and we were praying through whether we should have one more child or not. God answered many of these prayers clearly over the next several months.
After returning from the farms, we were given an opportunity to move up in our essential oil company, and we decided that we would try for one more child. The fall include fertility treatments, and this also, included coming up with another $10,000. Unfortunately, we had to go into more debt to be able to accomplish these goals. We have recently paid all of that debt, and again, we are debt free other than our mortgage. During the fall, we also had a failed IVF cycle, so it was very difficult for me to talk about, because it was a loss that many might not understand. It was similar to a miscarriage, but many don’t view it that way since it doesn’t include a positive pregnancy test. However, it’s still the loss of life, the potential for life, and knowing that our embryo didn’t make it. Obviously we tried again, and I am currently 27 weeks pregnant.
Debt Payoff Update for April 2017
- We are actually at a point with our Young Living Essential Oil business, that I no longer need to work. I have completely replaced my teaching salary with our Young Living income. We are also helping other couples achieve financial freedom with their Young Living Essential Oil business. If you have more questions about how to start your own business with us, please email me at steph (at) debtfreespending (dot) com. This business completely overtook our blogging side-hustle income, and my full-time teaching income, so we are blogging less now so we can devote more time to this business.
- We just finished paying off all of our baby/business loan this month and our plan is to now save money for more savings for when I quit work this fall.
- We will also be starting to save for a newer to us vehicle.
Prayer Requests & Praises:
- We are praising God that our business is doing so well. We continue to pray for guidance in how to lead our team, be effective leaders, and to help others grow their income as well.
- Another praise is the the ability for me to stay at home with our two smallest children. I never, ever thought after paying $100,000 to have all of our children that I could afford to do this, and this fall (if the Lord is willing) I will not go back to work if the Lord continues to bless our business at this rate.
- Prayers for a healthy delivery!
