Hubby and I LOVE Chinese Food, but it is VERY expensive to eat out, so we have learned to make this favorite dish at home!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 3/4 C bok choy (chopped fine)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped scallions
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 Tbsp. Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Ginger Root
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 3 Tbs Cilantro
- 1 teaspoon light brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 45 small wonton wrappers
- Water, for sealing wontons
- vegetable oil, for frying
Directions
1. Combine the wet/dry ingredients and set aside.
2. CLICK HERE to watch a You Tube video on how to wrap pot stickers!!
3. Use a melon ball scooper thingy (as I like to call it) to scoop pork mixture into center of wrapper.
4. Brush edges of wrapper with water (you don’t need much)
5. Fold Wrapper as per directions in video!
6. Heat enough water to boil dumplings, and as soon as water is boiling, heat a 12-inch saute pan over medium heat with enough oil for frying.
7. Place dumplings in boiling water for 2-3 minutes and then move to a heated 12-inch saute pan over medium heat.
8. Cook pot stickers until they are golden brown on both sides, and Voila! You just saved yourself a big bill at a Chinese Restaurant!
