Our family was so excited to receive a copy to review!! This classic has so many classic songs like “A Spoonful of Sugar, Chim Chim Cheree, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” and more! My mom came in to watch it with us, since this was the first movie she ever saw on a big screen at a theater in the 60’s! We were thrilled with the story of a Nanny who comes from the sky with her umbrella and takes to children and their family on a whirlwind adventure to discovering the real meaning of family.

The extras were awesome as well with original interviews from the 1960’s on the red carpet, to current interviews with the stars that are still living. What I gained the most from these extras was what a loving man Walt Disney was, and how he truly loved children!

On November 9th Disney and AFI celebrated the 50th Anniversary of MARY POPPINS with a screening attended by original cast members Dick Van Dyke (Bert) and Karen Dotrice (Jane Banks), as well as legendary composer Richard Sherman at TCL Chinese Theatre, the same theater where the film originally premiered.  My family just visited the Chinese Theater this summer, so it was so exciting to see him at a place where we have just vacationed!!!
