We’re so excited that the Brave (Three-Disc Collector’s Edition)
Brave was my favorite movie of the summer by far!! We were able to see this for the first time at the drive-in, and I LOVED it! This story is about a young girl whose family is trying to find her a suitor (much to her chagrin!). She quickly shows her independent and rebellious spirit by defying her parents in any way possible because she does NOT want to get married! This movie could easily be a Disney classic, because of the fairy tale story line, the witch’s spell, but one thing this movie doesn’t have – a prince charming! It really changes the message that instead of a “happily ever after” resulting in the prince and princess riding off into the sunset, happiness is finding your true hearts desire and being strong and courageous enough to seek after that dream!
This movie also deals a lot with Merida’s relationship with her mother, and how she and her mother have to come to an understanding of her age and independence. However, it also involves witches, potions, and mysetery, which makes it fit clearly into the fairy tale genre!
This combo pack comes with a TON of extras too! There are TWENTY-ONE extras on the blu-ray disc, and extras on the DVD as well! I LOVED the short La Luna which is about a boy with his dad and grandfather on a boat, and they go to the moon, sweep the stars from one side of the moon to the other, and it is adorable! The Legend of Mordu is a background story about the four brothers on the tapestry in the Brave movie! Again, this combo pack does NOT disappoint, and it’s out just in time for Christmas!!
