This DIY License Plate Sign is such a fun and easy craft. Not to mention easy on your wallet & who doesn’t love that.
There are lots of places to order these “license plate pieces” online. I ordered mine from Macon Resources on Etsy. I found them thru etsy.com and as a BONUS, Macon is a not-for-profit organization where everything is made by people with disabilities and all the proceeds go toward programs that help children and adults with disabilities.
Each letter (or number) is $1.50. Yes you read that right $1.50! All of the pieces that you order are raised and not flat like some of the new license plates are. You simply select how many you want and in the comments you can tell them which letters you want. I had even added a note in the comments asking if I could get as many different states as possible and as you can see from the picture they definitely gave me an array of different plates.
Once I received the letters it was just as simple as a hot glue gun and something on which to mount the letters. This is the part I love. Let your imagination run wild cause how or what you mount it to is completely up to you. The possibilities are endless- a pallet board, scrap wood, plastic board. Mine is mounted on some old clipboard type material that I found in the basement of our house when we moved in.
The thing I love the most about this craft is that it is so adaptable. Make on for your camper, boat, favorite mechanic, sons bedroom. There are so many possibilities. So go ahead, check out Macon Resources and get crafty. 🙂
