With three dogs and a cat, I’ve been looking for a pet safe weed killer for a long time. My husband made this homemade weed killer that really works that he got from a friend at work and I just had to share! Do you have pets? Check out our DIY All Natural Pet Sprays & Collars!
Ingredients:
- 1 Gallon white vinegar
- 2 C Epsom Salt
- 1/4 C Dawn (original blue)
- Optional: 20 drops of Thieves Essential Oil

Directions:
1. Mix the ingredients above in a one gallon sprayer or in another container (and use the squirt bottle like the one below) and spray the weeds! Our weeds died in approximately three hours!

yes I over sprayed and killed a pine tree that was down hill from where I was spraying and it rained a few days later and well…..you know what happened. DEAD
I assume that’s 2 cups of epson salt and is that 1/4 bottle of Dawn?
Just 1/4 cup of Dawn.
Does it kill grass as well?
I really need to know will it kill the grass
It does kill grass. Just spray it directly on the weeds.
How long do the results last?
i only use a natural dish soap. Will that work instead of Dawn?
