I am a self-proclaimed movie snob, and have been going to the movies for as long as I can remember. I have been to all types of cinematic environments that include variations like: traditional, drive-in, IMAX, 3-D, VIP lounge chairs, VIP airplane seats (in Tokyo), and even incredible home theaters. Were you aware that we have so many options to choose from now?? We even experienced a 4-D drive-in movie, where they handed out scratch and sniff cards! The scents included popcorn and candy, but also gas fumes and farts… yes it was a kids movie, as I’m sure you already guessed.
On my recent trip to LA, I was BLOWN AWAY by the brand new, cutting edge movie experience we were treated The Jungle Book in 3D IMAX at the Dolby Cinema AMC Burbank 16. [click for the amazing: Official Website link]We were so excited that just walking up to the movie theater made us all giddy. What do you think happens to a group of Moms (wives, girlfriends) who are away from family responsibilities in sunny LA for a few days with friends…?? “Whatever happens in LA, stays in LA” so THOSE pics and stories will remain in the vault! wink wink.
Anyway, we finally made it up the stairs and found an escalator and grand entrance to the theater.
AMC Theatres and Dolby Laboratories have launched Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime to deliver total premium cinema experience with laser projection, lifelike sound, and ultimate comfort in up to 100 sites. Check out my walk-through:
We were so amazed at the advanced stadium seating, where each set of lounge chairs were equipped with lit buttons to adjust the back and legs, and the Plexiglas row dividers provided extra acoustical waves (and overall safety).

The entire audience was already mesmerized at this point and could not imagine how The Jungle Book would dazzle in this phenomenal format! Can you imagine seeing this?
