So the last month has been a little crazy, but I wanted to share some of the last month with you. Hubby turned 40 at the end of February, and he decided that he didn’t want just a birthday, he wanted a birthday “weekend.” This is actually a family joke, since his little sister always has a birthday “week.” He would make fun of her, but quickly realized that he would only have one birth “day.” So, I heard him singing a different tune this year!
He came home to a birthday banner, and we took him to Olive Garden the first evening! This was low key, and we shared it with his dad (both of our parents are divorced) and my mother and grandmother and our son. The next day we had an open house with family & friends and really enjoyed this time! That evening we went with his sister, mom, and step-dad to a lovely restaurant in our local area. We also took my mother, grandmother, and our cousin along as well. It was definitely an evening to remember, and hubby received (40) $1 bills taped together in a shoe box from his parents. Very cute!!!

Of course, the iPhone did not take the best picture in the dark room!!

Once hubby’s birthday was over, we started the next “month of illness” as I like to call it. Hubby has had bronchitis three times this year (he is a nurse with a client in a school this year, and I think being exposed to all those germs has not helped)!! He had bronchitis twice, then caught the stomach flu, and is now recovering from a third bout of bronchitis. He gave me the stomach flu, and then our son had a fever the same week! So, we’re all hoping to go back to work & school tomorrow!
I’ll be 30 weeks this week, and while I have loved being pregnant, the stomach flu and third trimester have proven to be challenging! I’m excited and yet totally nervous at the same time. Our son is adopted from Guatemala, and it’s a lot easier (physically) to pick up a child at the airport! However, I have absolutely loved becoming a mom both ways! Whether it was the heartache of waiting or heartburn this time, I have loved being a parent, and can’t wait to parent again! Please be praying for our family as we transition into being parents again, and as we all adjust to having a baby in the house again!
