I have to be honest, when I first found out we had the opportunity to review the HEOS 5 wireless, bluetooth (multi-room) speaker by Denon as part of Best Buy’s Audiofest, I had no idea what is was or how it worked! I had to enlist hubby’s help for set-up and assembly. Once he had it assembled and configured, I was so excited about the ability to take the speaker with me from room to room, unlike the bulky old speakers we have in our living room. As part of Audiofest, my family was able to review this HEOS 5 wireless, bluetooth (multi-room) speaker by Denon (Retail Value of $399)! The quality of of sound on this speaker is amazing, and we listen to it mainly in our dining room and when we go outside to our pool. Music is transmitted to this speaker via bluetooth from an app that you download for free. Once the app is downloaded, you can listen to music via apps like Pandora, Rhapsody, etc. With the app “Tune In” which comes standard with the HEOS, you can listen to local radio stations as well!
The best feature of this speaker is it’s portability and the sound quality. I can’t get over the high quality of sound coming from such a small speaker! There is also an option to plug in your iPod, iPhone, or other MP3 type player so you can play your own music collection as well!
We were also able to listen to local EMS and Fire Police dispatches under local radio! We we totally “rubbernecking” and listening to local calls coming through via the dispatcher!
Assembly is so easy too! You just unplug all the parts and plug it in to the electrical outlet! It is compatible with select iPod®, iPhone® and iPad® models, plus select devices with an Android operating system and select Mach Speed and SanDisk devices. There is also an ethernet port so that you can hardwire as well! It has 2 POWERED TWEETERS along with dual woofers deliver clear, brilliant highs and detailed wide-range sound.
