I’ve been working on these Sesame Street oil paintings the last week, and I wanted to share them! I am by NO MEANS a painter, but I think these were pretty easy to do! I started out with a large photo of my favorite Sesame Street characters. Luckily, all of the body shapes are pretty easy to sketch out by hand. I started out by drawing the easiest shapes (such as the circle for Elmo’s head). Cookie monster basically has a football shaped head, and then I went for the eyes next. Pretty basic- just circles inside of circles! LOL The body and hands were the toughest parts, but I sketched everything out in pencil first, and this REALLY helped to clean up mistakes. I JUST need to put the lettering on the sign, and finish touching up the edges, and I will be done with this one!
This is my next project, and I wanted to start one so you could get an idea of how the sketching looks before the paint is applied. We LOVE Sesame Street, and even took our little guy to Sesame Place several years ago. Even though he’s beyond this now, I’m getting these ready for the next one! LOL
