While I don’t have any little girls in the house, even at my age I still need to use detangler spray with my long hair. However, since I score so much free conditioner with my coupons, I decided to use it to make some detangler spray so I didn’t have to buy detangler anymore.
Recipe #1:
This is so easy to make. While it depends on the spray bottle you are going to use, I recommend four parts water and one part conditioner. So, if you have a 10 oz. bottle, you would use 8 oz. of water and 2 oz. of conditioner. I used my glass measuring cup and measured out the correct amounts and stirred them together. Also, if you want to add your own unique aroma to it, try adding 15 drops of your favorite Young Living essential oil! You will need to shake the bottle every time you use it to remix ingredients.
Recipe #2:
This recipe is a little more involved, and includes other natural ingredients.
Mix together the following ingredients in a 2oz. spray bottle (I buy mine here):
- 1 1/2 Tsp. apple cider vinegar
- 5 drops of your favorite Young Living essential oil (I recommend Lavender).
- Distilled water
Comment any combinations you use below if you make your own hair detangler!

Love these recipes! I was intrigued when I found them at #Affimity, and wonder how they’d fare for my family, because I usually use water with coconut oil and essential oils (love rosemary and lavender for lice prevention as my 3.5 is in PK). I am definitely trying the conditioner recipe because it would help it last much longer (yay for saving money!). Thanks for sharing!
