Household Organization Tips For Frugal Living
Stick to a menu plan. A menu plan is a kitchen organization tool that will help not only with your budget, but your daily frustrations. Being able to have something easily ready to serve for dinner makes a huge difference in your time, finances and stress level. When you stick to your menu plan, you aren’t spending outside your grocery budget. You are also making things easier to manage on a day to day basis for yourself and your time. Our menu plan tips help take the mystery out of this, and make things easier to manage.
Keep a pantry stockpile list. So you aren’t spending too much money, you want to make sure you know what you actually have on hand in your stockpile. Keep a simple checklist of items you use most frequently. When you get low, you can easily plan to grab more. This list will keep you in stock, organized and not buying items continuously that you aren’t going to use in a timely manner.
Create a chore chart. Keeping your house clean can also help with your budget. Making sure everything is tidy, toys aren’t strewn about and the house in general is clean will keep you from spending money on broken items, lost items or unnecessary extra cleaning down the road. Get your kids involved in daily chores so your entire family is responsible for keeping your household organized. Check out our Printable Chore Checklist (under “Kids”).
Recycle and upcycle as often as possible. Recycling everything from newspapers to your soft drink cans can be a great way to stay frugal in your home. Recycling keeps things clean, saves money when you are able to reuse those items, and for many products like glass and aluminum you will also end up with a bit of cash back if you turn them in. This is an excellent household organization tip for frugal living that everyone will benefit from. Also, my new favorite craft supply is Washi tape, and you can upcycle so many items using it as a decoration.
Every family that truly wants to live a frugal lifestyle will have to consider how to become more organized not only in their budget and finances, but also in their daily life. Throughout your life you’ll find great ways to save money by focusing on organizing how things are managed, and these tips are what lead you to true financial freedom in the long run.
