I was SO EXCITED about making one of the neatest “food crafts” I saw on Pinterest the other day! I’ve seen several pins of these adorable ice cream Christmas ornaments! So, I couldn’t wait to try and make them myself! First, you will need the following ingredients:
- Jimmies (as we call them in my neck of the woods). I chose red and green for the holidays obviously!
- Red lace licorice
- Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups
- Ice Cream!
Directions:
1. Cut the lace licorice about 1 1/2 inch. Gently push both ends into the smaller end of the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. This was tough to do without breaking the cup apart, so we had a lot of fun eating our mistakes!
When you are finished it should look like this:
Then, we found it easier to work with ice cream that was frozen into balls, so we made several that looked like this:
We placed as many as could into this muffin tin and left them in the freezer for about 2 hours.
Once they were frozen, we quickly rolled them in the jimmies. Do NOT waste time or the ice cream will melt fast, and your ornment will melt quickly!
Once you’ve rolled it completely in jimmies, place your Reese’s “ornament hook” on top and DIG IN!!!
