Back in 1990, director/producer Ivan Reitman (Up in the Air, Ghost Busters, Twins, Stripes) and Arnold Schwarzenegger created one of my favorite movies at that time. Kindergarten Cop was an adorable comedy, and Schwarzenegger was a perfect bumbling fish-out-of water character surrounded by younger children.
This morning, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment announced that action superstar Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables 3, Workaholics) and comedian Bill Bellamy (White Collar, Royal Pains) star in the re-imagined cop comedy, Kindergarten Cop 2. The movie will be available on DVD, Digital HD and On Demand on May 17.
Kindergarten Cop 2 is directed by Don Michael Paul (Jarhead 2: Field of Fire, Tremors 5: Bloodlines) and tells the story of gruff FBI agent (Dolph Lundgren) who is assigned to recover sensitive stolen data, and has to go undercover as a kindergarten teacher. You can imagine the situation when the school’s liberal, politically correct environment is more than he bargained for. Who do you think is the better Kindergarten Cop: Schwarzenegger or Lundgren?
