Anytime we can have fun as a family, I am on board with whatever we have planned. This past weekend we took a trip to Reynold’s Farm in Waynesboro, PA for a hayride out to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out our pumpkins for Halloween. The farm is located on Gehr Road in Waynesboro, and you can check head over to the Reynold’s Farm website to learn more!
Even tough we picked the windiest day of the season, we had a ton of fun. The hayride is the first of many things to do at the farm. We decided to start with this first so we could get our pumpkins and then the kids could go take part in the other fall festivities. Don’t let the video below fool you, the older boys had a ton of fun picking out their pumpkins and playing all of the games. They just didn’t like the wind!
Grammy went along to help pick a pumpkin, and that proved to be a tough decision. We finally decided on one that looked like it would make a good Minion since that is our favorite movie right now.
Once we picked our pumpkins, we had to pay for them, and their is a tent where you can get fresh apple cider and other goodies. There is also a sleepy yellow lab that you might have to wake up so you can pay. He was one of my favorites parts of the farm!
After we loaded our pumpkins back in the car, we headed over to the activity area, and the animals were our first stop. There were ostriches, goats, a cow, and a few other critters that our little guy loved. The cow was not so happy that we didn’t have any food for him and he let us know by bellowing when we walked away.
The large slides were a favorite, and my boys went down them at least twenty or thirty times.
There is an extensive selection of playground equipment and activities that could keep your child entertained for hours, so this is well worth the admission fee. You can even host a birthday party at the farm, which would be a very fun experience for everyone.
The best part of my day is that I spent it with these two. Anytime we can have fun as a family, away from technology and daily stresses, is a good day. Reynold’s Farm is definitely our top pick for local fall fun!
