How to Make a Jar Salad:
1. Simply place all your ingredients except your greens in layers at the bottom of your mason jar. Make sure you start with your dressing at the bottom!
2. Then layer each ingredient as you move up the jar and put your greens on top!
3. I recommend placing cheese closer to the top and keeping all fibrous vegetables (such as chick peas, peas, beans, etc.) right on top of the dressing. It seems the harder ingredients don’t wilt or get as messy from the dressing or soak them up as much.
4. Then seal the jar with the lid, and ours have lasted 4-5 days, which is a basic work week for us. This way we are able to eat healthy and not have to pack a new salad every night. Plus, it stays fresh!
*Please note that strawberries and diced tomatoes do change their texture after a few days!
Just think ouf some of these different salads you can create in a jar with these ingredients:
- sunflower seeds
- bacon bits
