I know that many of you are so busy, and probably don’t have time to check out the “About Me” section of the blog! I thought I’d take some time tonight and give you a chance to get to know my family a little better!
First, I’m a wife of almost 15 years to my hubby Adam. He’s a GREAT guy! He cooks, cleans, helps out with bath/bed time with our son, and supports me in just about every crazy endeavor I start! 😉 We have one son, who was forever placed into our hearts in June of 2005, but not into our arms until November! (More about that in a paragraph or two ;). I teach full-time, and hubby is a nurse, so with the help of a few family members, we are able to run this blog!
We also have a non-profit ministry where we give toiletries (free of charge) to about 60 families a month, but we actually started out as a praise band. Read more HERE! At Christmas we adopt almost 100 families total through local community members and businesses, and have an amazing day where our clients get to meet their “adoptive” families. This is SUCH a blessing for our family and friends! We really feel that it is a blessing to give, rather than receive! 🙂
Out little guy came home right before Thanksgiving in 2005, and we were DEFINITELY thankful that year! He has been the biggest blessing we’ve ever received, and rejoice each day that we get to be his parents! He’s a sweet little guy with a strong sense of humor! He’s also a bit chatty (Like his mom:)
Our son is in Kindergarten this year, and is six years old. He loves school, and he was Student of the Month in December! We were able to coach his soccer team this year, and try to be as active as possible in his schooling!
On a personal note, many of you who followed the blog through the fall know that my dad lost his leg the week of Thanksgiving, and we still were able to find many reasons to be thankful this year, despite his loss. It continues to be a struggle for our family as we learn to help him learn a new way of life. Please be patient with us some days as we (meaning me and my bloggy helpers) work through deals, coupons, and match-ups, because we have a very active life, even outside DFS! We thank you all very much, and love our fans, because we know how much you’ve supported us over the last 8 months!
(((hugs)))
