Warning: Eat and drink at your own risk. The Minion characters are so hilarious, that viewers may explode with laughter, pee their pants, snort, spit their drink out of their nose or mouth, or choke on popcorn, etc. Those who have obnoxious and silly laughs will entertain the audience for minutes longer than the joke or scene lasted.
Now that you have been warned, here goes the review.

Along with the general public, our family really loves the Minions characters and nearly jumped out of our seats when the premiere trailer hit the big and small screens. We REALLY love movies and my calendar is usually booked with every up-and-coming flick that hits our area. This highly anticipated spin-off has been on our calendar for several months.
We were first introduced to these unintelligible yellow mischievous, but highly loyal characters in the 2010 movie, ‘Despicable Me’. These loveable Minion sidekicks to the initial antagonist in the movie, ‘Gru’, took the world by storm. The first film was a huge success and grossed $560 million worldwide. My family appreciates solid storyline and ideal casting, so we added to our Exclusive Library of Family Favorites and watch over and over and over. Sequels, clips, toys and now a spin-off movie, featuring these pill-looking sidekicks have been launched and consumed by kids of all ages.
Our expectations were pretty high with this movie. My 10-year old daughter enjoyed the movie (as you can see below). My husband and I… liked it, but were not as entertained as we had been with the original ‘Despicable Me’. This movie may have suffered in the way that some Saturday Night Live-generated characters do, when they launch their character-driven movies (refer to: ‘Here’s Pat’). Some characters are better as sidekicks, with their running jokes and appearances throughout another movie.
In this movie, we learn how the Minions began and searched since the dawn of time, to find the perfect Villain to work for. The best clips are in the trailer. The rest of the movie is cute, but does not hold up to our expectations. I smiled many times, but did not laugh out loud – as I had with every other movie, clip or appearance of the Minions.

Bonus Review
I loved it! It was way better than Despicable Me 1 and 2.
I loved seeing how the Minions started their story.
