There are times where holidays come upon us, and to be honest, we’re really not prepared. This has happened to me this Mother’s Day, since I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant myself! So, I’ve come up with some quick ideas for you at varying price ranges to help you get a great gift together, even if you are short on time! My Top Picks When You’re Short on Money:
1. Fresh picked flowers. Do you have a garden? Each year, I’m able to snag lilacs from my garden to give as gifts around Mother’s Day. You can usually pick up an inexpensive potted flower locally for under $10! Remember, it’s the thought that counts!
2. Check out our OWN Chocolate Covered Strawberry Recipes! If you have enough time, these are actually not difficult to make, and don’t take a ton of time and cost less!
3. Homemade Gifts: Are you lacking in ideas? Follow our Mother’s Day Gift Ideas board on Pinterest!
4. Make your own gift basket. (See our Spa Gift Basket Ideas above)! Remember, this can get expensive if you add to many high priced items to your basket. You can always shop stores like the Dollar Tree for inexpensive mugs, and I even found a mug that my son could decorate this past year! I’m always finding inexpensive finds there that make GREAT gifts to put in a gift basket that don’t cost very much! Gift Basket Tip: Ask your local florist for one of the forks they stick in flower arrangements to hold cards. These make great gift card holders for gift baskets! I scored several for free when I asked the floral manager for a few the last time I bought balloons.
5. Gifts from the grandchildren. If you have kids, you have it made, because grandmothers LOVE handmade items from their grandchildren. You may be off the hook with buying your own gift if you’re having your child craft a gift for grandma.
