Most of our readers know that baby J. was born earlier this month, and it’s been a whirlwind adventure ever since. We’ve had many late night feedings, naps, and diaper changes in the last few weeks! One of the registry items we didn’t receive was a monitor, so we were so excited to be able to review the Motorola Wireless Video Baby Monitor. My mom had been urging us to buy one as well. It came in the mail the same day we delivered baby J., so I took it to the hospital with us so my husband could see how it worked while we were there. Make sure to check out our Ultimate Baby Registry Checklist too. You can read all of our baby related posts here.
When we arrived home we immediately put the camera in the nursery and practiced using the monitor, and the speaker/microphone component. This meant that hubby had the monitor in our bedroom and could talk to me through the speaker/monitor while I was in the nursery feeding little J.
The camera is very tiny and takes up very little space. I also like the peace of mind knowing that its signal is secure so others cannot eavesdrop. The video component carries the microphone/speaker, but even when hubby was talking to me, I was able to respond and he could hear me. We’re been using it since the first night we came home, and the night vision is an amazing tool to be able to see him even when the room is completely dark. It also plays different lullabies that we can control from the video component.
Having a video monitor is so nice! Our old monitor was just the audio and this one makes me feel so much better that I can see and hear him at the same time. My husband and I agree that sometimes there are products that are worth the price, and this is definitely one of them. This product is especially useful for us because of the distance between our bedroom and our nursery.
