Keeping track of how you care for your automobile will help you save money in the long run! Not only does it help you keep on a maintenance schedule, it also helps you keep track of repairs, receipts, and warranties. We have had a few parts replaced that were still under warranty that we were able to have fixed for free from stores like Auto Zone or Advance Auto. We also had a manufacturer’s warranty that covered the repair of a coil in our Buick Enclave last year. If I had not kept all of my receipts and warranties in one place, I may have paid for those repairs out of my own pocket!
We have created our own DebtFreeSpending Vehicle Maintenance Log (PDF)/ DebtFreeSpending Vehicle Maintenance Log (Word) for you to print and keep in a binder! You should also include a maintenance schedule for all of your vehicles in this same binder (This is usually in your car’s manual or can be found on the manufacturer’s website). Keeping abreast with your car’s maintenance schedule will save you money by preventing expensive repairs and keeping your car on the road longer. Also, when you go to sell your vehicle, this is a great way to let the buyer know the value of the car, and all the maintenance that you have completed.
