Out of our three dogs, Macey is my personal protector. She is bright, intelligent, and clearly isn’t afraid to show her place in our animal pack. After contracting Lyme Disease several years ago, she has had a tougher time with physical aches and pains, and also alertness and mental sharpness at times. Now that she is over seven years old, I consider her a senior age dog, and I really want to make sure she’s getting what she needs so we started her on Purina ProPlan Bright Minds. #BrightMind #CollectiveBias
So we headed into PetSmart to pick up a bag and this is always a fun trip for our family. However, this was especially fun for Macey, because she was able to come by herself with us, and we were able to give her some extra special attention.
We headed to the Purina aisle and found it in with the other ProPlan items.
While researching the product, I learned that it was specially formulated to increase cognitive awareness in adult (age 7+) dogs and that it contained enhanced botanical oils promoted memory, attention, and trainability. I really wanted to understand the science behind why this would help my dog, especially since she has an ongoing health condition that does seem to affect her physically and mentally at times. Of course we had to let her do the sniff test of all the Purina foods!
According to experts at Purina Pro Plan, around age seven, the glucose metabolism in a dog’s brain begins to change, which can affect memory, learning, awareness or decision making. Purina Pro Plan discovered a way to promote alertness and mental sharpness in dogs 7+ through nutrition and has introduced BRIGHT MIND Adult 7+ formulas. I definitely wanted to give this product a try and so we switched her for a thirty-day trial, and I will be posting my findings next week, so be sure to check back and learn more about Purina ProPlan Bright Minds. Of course this trip wasn’t all business! We had to let her watch the birds, which is her favorite thing to do at PetSmart!
Did you know that there are approximately 87 million dogs in the U.S. and an estimated 44 percent of them are seven years and older?
By the end of Macey’s big adventure, we decided to give her a treat at home and let her try some of her new food!
Check back next week to see what she thought of her new food!

I love that photo of Macey looking at the birds in PetSmart! We have two older dogs in our house, so I’m curious to hear more about Macey’s new food. Thanks for sharing! #client
