Having a newborn has definitely been an amazing experience for my family. It’s been so different than adopting a four month old in many ways, especially since I am breastfeeding my son. I’ve been wanting to write an update post so my readers know how baby J has been doing. However, shortly after delivery I developed high blood pressure, and we had some serious issues with baby J not gaining enough weight. He was actually in the zero percentile for weight! I didn’t even know you could be in the zero percentile! So, we’ve been working on milk supply, feedings, gaining an ounce a day, and trying to fit sleep in when possible!
Last week I was able to come off all of my blood pressure medication (praise the Lord!)!! Also, we started supplementing J with some formula, so he has been gaining about an ounce a day. I’m so grateful that baby and I are both becoming more healthy. Unfortunately, that has taken away from my time to blog! I’ve really had to focus on our health, but am definitely missing my blog, my readers, and just having interaction with all of you! Can you tell I still have some serious pregnancy hormones flying?
Ok, on to the update! Baby J is two months old, and he’s grown so much already! He’s starting to be able to hold his head up more, and now he moves his head from left to right. He also started smiling more and cooing. This is my favorite part of the day, when I can get him to make sounds. He really loves interacting with us, and my husband and other son love to try and get him to coo! It’s so adorable and melts our hearts, of course! He hasn’t rolled over yet, but he is very close, and can roll from his side to his back with no problems. He’s also making eye contact with us more each day! It’s been such an amazing experience having a pregnancy and adopting both. I feel I have the best of both worlds!
I hope each of you will stay with me through this season, even if I can’t blog as many deals per day. I know that deals are important in helping our readers and their families say money, but I know I also won’t get this time back with my boys, so I’m trying to find the balance between work and family! Much <3 to you all for showing your support by showing that you understand or sharing your stories!
